A visit to John Cheetham's dojo in Lymm, England

I recently had the pleasure of a visit as guest instructor at a terrific dojo in Lymm England. The dojo is run by John Cheetham of Shotokan Karate Magazine fame. My host John couldn't of been more gracious. John made me feel very welcome, I felt like an old friend even though it was the first time we met. The students were all black belts and there were about 18 in all. While not a big dojo they have had a procession of prestigious guest instructors through their doors. It was an honor to be among that lofty group.
I have to make it clear that this is a sweat dojo. The idea is to train and train hard and that is precisely what they did. It has a solid group of black belts both men and women. We had a good training session and then we went to the local pub for good conversation and a pint, an important English bonding tradition, not one to buck tradition I got stuck in and enjoyed  some great company. I had a wonderful time and look forward to seeing them all again.
