Biography:  Sensei McDonald started training in Jamaica in the West Indies under Sensei's Garry Turnbull and Frank Woon-A-Tai. Sensei Woon-A-Tai had a tremendous impact on the JKA karate in Jamaica, and was Sensei McDonald's teacher from 5 kyu to nidan rank (1979) grading.  Sensei Garry and Woon-A-Tai eventually organized the JKA of Jamaica into about 4 schools.  Sensei McDonald was attending the University of the West Indies, and started a club on the Mona campus.
Sensei Mcdonald stated "My most important experience in karate was during the 6-12 months period after I had relocated to New Jersey, and began searching for a new school.  I attended and trained at several schools, and was able to really appreciate my early Sensei's, and to know that Shotokan was my martial art of choice.  My next teacher was Sensei John Mullin, with whom I have trained to date.
The major influences on my karate were: Learned my front kicks from watching "Monty", who was a Kyokushin Kai instructor in Jamaica during the 1970s.  The importance of strong spirit to be successful in Karate from the JKA of Jamaica club.  kata's and Round-House Kick from sensei Frank Woon-A-Tai.  Reverse Punch and relaxation for speed from Sensei Mullin."
December 2001 Sensei McDonald  accepted the position of General Secretary to the WTKO.  Sensei McDonald adds his strength in management and organizational skills to the WTKO's management team.
